How do I set a print area in Excel?
Select the range you want, then go to Page Layout → Print Area → Set Print Area. Now only that selection will print.
Setting a print area lets you print just the part of your worksheet you need, not everything.
How to Set the Print Area
- Select the range of cells you want to print
- Go to the Page Layout tab
- Click Print Area → Set Print Area
Done! Now Ctrl+P will print only this area.
How to Add Another Area
If you need to print multiple non-contiguous ranges:
- Select the new range
- Print Area → Add to Print Area
Each range will print on a separate page.
How to Clear the Print Area
Page Layout → Print Area → Clear Print Area
Visual Check
The print area shows as a blue border in Page Break Preview mode (View → Page Break Preview).
